Job Description

The State Network Support Lead is responsible for designing and developing statewide network systems. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Designs and directs installation of internal and external networks. Coordinates and links computer systems within an agency and the state to increase compatibility and to share information. Directs testing and evaluation of network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Consults with management to ensure agreement on system principles. Plans expansion or modifications systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow. Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections and manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures. Coordinates with vendors and with company personnel to facilitate network system acquisitions. Supervises technical support, provisioning, engineering, and maintenance of the State network. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, as well as client and server applications development processes, and multimedia and Internet technology. Knowledge of networks, maintenance, and updating of hardware and software. Ability to customize and update networks, as required by the needs of statewide agencies. Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
