Job Description

The Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) Information Technology (IT) Technical Specialist is responsible for designing and developing solutions to complex applications and addressing system and other technology concerns. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy. Knowledge of system architecture concepts, designs, and practices. Knowledge of business and technical research principles, processes, and techniques. Knowledge of technological development and trends in the Information Technology (IT) industry. Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, and coordination of people and resources. Ability to diagnose system problems, determine solutions and initiate necessary procedures. Ability to communicate project goals and problem solutions to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates in written or verbal form. Knowledge of enterprise system administration including; software installation, development, testing and configuration, installation of upgrades and maintenance and support. Applicants with a masters degree in Information Systems; Financial background with knowledge of GAAP and their practical application; Minimum of seven (7) years hands-on experience in SAP configuration and design; Extensive knowledge of SAP ERP applications version ECC 6.0 for public sector; Knowledge of state government financial, budgeting, and personnel concepts and procedures; Working knowledge of JAWS (Job Access With Speech) software to perform accessibility testing; Ability to use Microsoft Office applications; Extensive customer support experience.
