The Infrastructure Services is a part of the larger Global Technology Platforms horizontal which is responsible for Design. Build, Deploy & Run for the Infrastructure Products and Services that enables the largest 24/7 e-commerce and physical stores landscape in the world.

Our engineers take great pride in their ownership of the Cloud Infrastructure & Networks along with the heterogenous EDGE environments and the Storage/Backup infrastructure which operates at high degree of efficiency to optimize the cost of service.

Our high performing Infrastructure Services Team offers the ability to proactively detect and repair products & services from failures thus offering the best experience to our Customers, Merchants & Associates worldwide.

  • You are focused on delivering fit for purpose Storage & Data Protection Products & Services that enables our Omni channel Customer Experience.

  • You are focused on Continuous Improvement mindset with a passion to drive efficiencies and contain costs.

  • You are responsible for covering the Operational & Engineering aspects to all business segments and the diverse channels for Online & Apps across US, International markets & Enterprise Services.

  • You have the availability commitment of our websites across markets is 99.95% for e-commerce and this role will have significant contribution to meet and beat the set target.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing and enhancing tools that allow us to accelerate what we are doing and build a platform that is sustainable with growth. 

  • Influencing vision and strategies that increase our level of automation for service delivery, and operations at an extremely distributed scale. 

  • Building a team environment by partnering to solve problems and staying focused till there is a solution

  • Building collaborative relationships with key partners by driving priorities aligned to value streams, influencing, and prioritizing product roadmaps, and gaining buy-in from executive leadership

  • Providing overall direction by analyzing organizational objectives and needs.

  • Plan and allocate resources within defined budgets.

  • Coordinate the plans and activities of the organization with senior leaders inside and outside IT.

  • Apply technical and process expertise to address challenging technical and business issues.

  • Enhance Walmart’s Storage and DP strategy together with the storage product manager, and lead to an efficient execution in the years ahead.

  • Ensure that the infrastructure and associated services deployed are deployed with appropriate quality checks and are highly available, reliable, scalable and flexible.

  • Engage in high priority business/corporate impacting incidents and effectively run production operations.

  • Collaborate effectively with various functions such as Product, Design, Business, Operations, and other Engineering teams to gain commitments on improvement/remediation initiatives

  • Be a multiplier: Build a high performing team with strong engineering-driven culture that promotes diversity, innovation, and creative problem solving 

  • Possess a global mindset and develop a positive healthy environment while working internationally across cultures

  • Actively lead and be engaged in technical discussions, project execution and incident management to ensure that we meet or beat the stated Availability goals

  • Develop a deep understanding of the various Infrastructure Products & Services that come together to deliver Walmart e-commerce and stores products.

  • You would provide leadership and mentoring to a highly skilled team on technical and critical functions within Walmart

  • Actively participate in defining and refining the scope of Business Continuity & DR testing


  • A recognized Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Engineering with 15+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering & Operations with focus on Storage & Backup technologies

  • 10+ years of experience in managing, leading, and developing technical teams of minimum of 30 members.

  • Experience with storage products such as NetApp CDOT, Hitachi Block, Pure FlashArray, Brocade FC, Cisco FC.

  • Experience in Data protection product such as IBM spectrum protect, Veritas Netbackup, Commvault.

  • Extensive experience in cloud environments And cloud storage technologies as CEPH.

  • Ability to review & guide Technical Program executions or delivery of large infrastructure initiatives

  • Experience investigating, analyzing and troubleshooting large scale enterprise systems.

  • Strong Systems Engineering knowledge, including a good understanding of Configuration management, system deployment automation tools like Terraform, system performance monitoring to understand and interpret system performance metrics, etc

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related field OR 8 years’ experience in software
engineering or related field.
3 years’ supervisory experience.
