Position Summary

The InfoSec Decision Automation (IDA) team delivers advanced, data-driven services to enable scalable, risk-based vulnerability management for Walmart.

IDA is looking for a Principal software engineer in Cybersecurity that has a passion for developing solutions and productization for vulnerability management security domain. Ideal candidates should have strong background in technology and security awareness. Some of the core technology experiences that are desirable for this role would be API development, containerization, front end UI development, data modelling and big data processing.

What you'll do

  • Develop solutions, frameworks, and tools for Vulnerability Management in the enterprise.
  • Work across the entire vulnerability management ecosystem to manage effective and efficient data flow and exchange.
  • You will work with security engineers, external teams, and partners in an agile manner to build and release product features that caters to business requirements.
  • Use your knowledge of applicable technology stacks, platforms, and deployed controls to automate risk prioritization and mitigation
  • You’ll work to design solutions which remove performance impacting barriers while increasing efficiency for decision automation and vulnerability management ecosystem.
  • Create proof of concepts, prototyping and experimentation.
  • Work on Third party products and custom frameworks in managing vulnerabilities for the enterprise
  • Responsible for operations, monitoring and upkeeping of the hosted services, products, reports, and analytics

Highly Desirable Skills

  • Awareness about information security domains, vulnerabilities, threats, and exploits.
  • As a full stack engineer, experience in building scalable, resilient, secure enterprise application platforms using microservices, APIs, frontend, and backend technologies.
  • Working experience in programming language such as Java, Python, JS and frameworks/libraries such as Spring, Node, React, Angular etc.
  • Working experience in Apache Spark and Big data technologies for data acquisition, processing, and persistence.
  • Working experience in Cloud solutions and platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new programming languages or technologies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • CISA, Security+ or any other security certification

Minimum Qualifications

  • A quick learner who can partner with other technologists and leaders to deliver solutions securely at the speed of business
