Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Be a value add member of a network team responsible for 10,000 routers and 70,000 switches. Responsibilities include routing and switching, LAN and WAN, in a Cisco, Juniper, and Meraki environment.

Enhance network infrastructure by implementing innovative solutions; monitor network performance via available network tools; writing change control installation plans; installing network hardware; assisting team members with network changes; working with suppliers and senior team members to review system performance; identifying and recommending improvements to network alerts and monitors; recommending improvements to documented procedures; assisting in network design; assessing potential network problems and identifying solutions; and conducting audits on network rules, alerts, and monitors on a scheduled basis.

Deliver project deliverables; Work with other team members to deliver project deliverables; manage groups of tasks associated with large projects; completing project documentation in accordance with program management office guidelines; participate in customer meetings; representing projects to the area project council; and updating customers and management on project status.

Resolves network infrastructure issues and problems by troubleshooting and diagnosing problems; providing network support; taking corrective action to address performance problems; supporting large-scale, cross-department production issues; resolving support problems in a timely manner; providing updates to customers, project leads, and management team on problem resolution status; and driving supplier participation during problem resolution.

Communicates and collaborates with others by bringing well-defined topics to team meetings for discussion; gathering input from team members on decisions; and engaging in consistent dialogue with internal and external customers.

Participates in setting the technical direction for the team by making recommendations; providing input in the development of technology roadmaps; assisting senior team members in gathering business and technical requirements to support new network implementations; participating in the evaluation of supplier products; implementing best practices; and informing senior management of impactful issues.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Prefer experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Meraki configuration and some scripting experience with Python or Ansible.
