Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Walmart's Item Management Tools (iSAM) team is responsible for building the core services, workflow systems and tools required to audit and remediate content of an item that drive and improve customer experience.  Walmart is investing in transforming these spaces with latest technology and we are looking for talented individual who can use their engineering and leadership skills to help our teams solve complex problems.  As a member of the team, you'll be participating and contributing to transforming products and platforms in this space. You will be part of the application development team software design and implementation, problem solving, leading consistency across our team in quality standards, ensuring our teams adhere to architecture principles, research and propose creative ideas that allows our teams to solve problems faster and provide engineering efficiency as they work with our customers to deliver world-class software solutions.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems

  • 4+ years of experience in eCommerce Software development

  • 4+ years of programming experience in architecting highly scalable & performing Web Applications

  • 3+ years of programming experience using Javascript ES6, React+Redux, NodeJs, HTML,CSS,REST, Web Services

  • 2+ years of developing / architecting high transaction high throughput systems is a must

  • 2+ years of experience with Open Source technologies

  • 2+ years of developing / architecting high transaction high throughput systems is a must

  • 2+ years of experience in agile ways of working in a distributed geographical model

You’ll sweep us off our feet if you

  • Design and develop scalable, performant, and responsive frontend application.

  • Excellent communication, timeliness and a desire to write clean, organized code.

  • NodeJS ecosystem expertise, including API development

  • Prior experience with large scale web applications

  • Actively participates in the agile practices and ceremonies for the team.

  • Curiosity and have the desire to learn

What you’ll do

  • Innovate and drives technical vision and influences product roadmap and vision

  • Design and develop in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects

  • Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design

  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups of engineers, including offshore associates

  • Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues

  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

  • Supports business objectives and ensures the business needs are being met

  • Develop components and modules that add to the pool of re-usable, and platform capabilities for the UI teams.

  • Work on cutting edge Javascript based technologies to develop maintainable, performant, and elegant features in an Agille, incremental fashion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and 6 years’ experience in software engineering OR Master of Science 3 years' experience in software engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS in computer science or engineering preferred

  • Experience in Retail or eCommerce domain is preferred

  • Experience in Java and Python is a plus
