The International Store Inventory team brings innovation and collaboration to our Walmart International markets.  We work with in-country partners to define and implement new technology and processes to run stores more efficiently and effectively. 

Role Description

This role focuses on ensuring that merchandise in the store is in the correct location and fully stocked to deliver customer satisfaction.

Drives the product discovery process for projects by collaborating with the Business, User Experience, and Engineering Teams during discovery to assess value, usability, and feasibility of product features; specifying, prioritizing, and communicating high level and detailed product
specifications; and using written specifications, business rules, flows, cases and user experience generated deliverables (for example, prototypes, wireframes, design and copy documents).

Supports product implementation and deployment for small defined projects by engaging with Engineering during implementation to answer questions and make scope trade off decisions; working closely with the business to launch products and ensure their adoption; coordinating post-launch activities to validate that the product works as designed and that acceptance testing was successful; training and supporting users on new product features; managing close-loop feedback cycles to encompass customer and user comments and needs; and defining, tracking and improving key product metrics.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

The Global Tech Digital Experiences/eCommerce organization oversees technology for our international markets such as Canada and Mexico. Our functional areas include: Strategy & Operations, Program Management, Product Management, Software Engineering, Design, and Data Science.

Role Description:

We are looking for a Strategy and Operations lead to work alongside a team of product managers to drive strategy and operations across our MX portfolio. You will define and drive strategic, operational, and organizational improvements across this organization. You’ll cover such areas as: long-term strategy, procurement, financial planning & analysis, executive communications, etc. You will partner with product leads to enhance their domain’s strategies and execution efficiencies, ensuring that they operate according to Walmart corporate mandates while also being fit for purpose for the international organization. This is a high visibility role in which you will also manage monthly and quarterly business reviews, quarterly all hands meetings, and quarterly leadership offsites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving the product discovery process for large complex, and/or ambiguous projects, with full competitive and gap analyses, customer research, and data insights.
  • Driving consensus and delivering in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders across tech and business teams.
  • Develop and champion product vision, strategy, and roadmap in support of corporate goals and objectives.
  • Influence product and engineering teams with a customer driven design and development. Measure progress and impact of strategic insights.
  • Gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and problem solve effectively
  • Develop compelling and insightful recommendations and author and deliver high-impact presentations and plans at every level of the organization
  • Work closely with operational managers to implement recommendations
  • Manage day-to-day triage on anything that is broken that is impeding the successful operation of the organization

You are a great fit for this role, if:

  • You have 3-5 years’ experience in product management, management consulting, retail, eCommerce business functions, or related fields
  • You are an expert in PowerPoint and Excel
  • You are equally comfortable devising strategic initiatives and operationalizing tactical projects
  • You have excellent project management skills and the ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
  • You are a self-starter who can fully immerse yourself in structured problem solving and data analysis to identify problems and/or opportunities for improvement; zoom out to develop compelling, synthesized insights, and viable solutions; and develop and execute on complex projects and comprehensive action plans
  • You have exceptional communication skills with the ability to structure a compelling storyline and build presentation decks/briefing documents that support the narrative
  • You can determine and use relevant business metrics, analyses, and reports to measure, monitor, and improve performance and you can identify and apply sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and making decisions
  • You can deal tactfully, respectfully, and effectively with a diverse array of individuals; You involve others in decisions and plans that affect them, when appropriate; You understand how to convey a sense of urgency in ways that motivate others to complete responsibilities and achieve goals
  • You demonstrate creativity and strength in the face of change, obstacles, or adversity. You are highly organized and adapt to competing demands and shifting priorities
  • You are willing both to get your hands dirty and to liaise indirectly with teams
  • You are aware of what needs doing and keen to make it happen, however big or small
  • You enjoy international travel. International travel is an inherent requirement with this role; you must be willing to travel at least 10% of the time

You’ll stand out for this role if:

  • You have a solid background and understanding of eCommerce, retail, and technology
  • You have experience managing a P&L or Product
  • You have an MBA
