Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Leads and directs in large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions. Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues by reviewing and analyzing information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); directing actions as designated in the plan. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open-Door Policy.

Position Description:
Want to use design and coding skills to solve real-life large-scale problems impacting millions of lives? The engineering manager for the platform will be responsible for design and development of Me@W ecosystem experience and feature sets. The ecosystem is leveraged by ~1.2M Walmart associates daily for day to activities and with laser focus on consumer grade experience and quality of the offering. This is one of the topmost and largest initiative in Walmart offering plenty of retail experience at scale. You’ll lead application development teams in researching, designing, solving, and reviewing the platform and the product, ensuring the engineering principles are followed to provide consumer grade experience to associates.

You’ll make an impact by: 

  • Design platform Offering – Design and develop push notification platform to allow extensibility, pluggability and re-use of components. This needs to be governed and improvised in the long run to avoid dilution over time resulting in technical debt. 
  • Recommending tech stack and tools – Recommend selection of technology stack and tools based on use cases and problem statements in the best interest of the associates and Store ecosystem
  • Leveraging APIs abstraction – Partner with functional teams to ensure API abstraction and loose decoupling of front end and back-end systems.
  • Building Strategic relationship - Partner with peer teams to onboard and consult then on One App framework.
  • Operating with excellence - Set an example in managing code quality reviews, coverage, automation for core applications and peer teams. Contribute to technology backlog based on reviews.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field OR 7 years’ experience in software
engineering or related field.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
