In Walmart Global Tech, our Enterprise Business Services (EBS) organization is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience. The People Technology and Modernization team supports the successful deployment and adoption of new People technology across the enterprise. As a Director Engineering in Walmart's People Tech Division, you will be leveraging your expertise to make an impact on high visibility initiatives that are delivering new capabilities for Walmart's People Modernization journey.

As a technical leader on this team, you'll influence, coach, and be a servant leader to multiple teams participating and contributing in transforming products and platforms in People technology space. You will be part of the team leading software design and implementation, problem-solving, leading consistency across our team in quality standards, ensuring our teams adhere to architecture principles, research, and propose creative ideas that allows our teams to solve problems faster and provide engineering efficiency as they work with our customers to deliver world-class software solutions.

Job Details & Responsibilities:
  • Technical depth rooted in hands on experience across the breadth of modern software technology domains
  • Extensive experience in the design, development, and delivery of software products with a massive customer base
  • Strong track record in a strategic technical leadership role with large-scale software development projects
  • A clear vision for architecture and exceptional communication skills to articulate it to all levels of stakeholders
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to balance conflicting interests in a complex and fast-paced environment
  • Thorough understanding of distributed technologies, public cloud technologies, and data structures and algorithms
  • Experience in hiring, coaching, and managing a team of high potential platform engineers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to negotiate and drive the tough conversations in influencing engineering decisions
  • Manage divisional and corporate strategic initiatives by directing new and existing People Technology strategies, and serving as a member of multiple senior-level cross-functional steering committees for strategic initiatives
  • Provide overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 6 years' experience in software engineering or related field OR 8 years' experience in software
engineering or related field.
3 years' supervisory experience.

Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years' experience in software engineering
