COBOL Application Developer

At Dillard’s IT, our core systems are still going strong in our mainframe environment. Every day we’re working with our business to ensure that the tools needed for our associates are up and running and continuously reliable, but it doesn’t stop there.

As a COBOL Application Developer, your job will be to ensure that new development is seamlessly integrated with existing programs, and that our systems are running smoothly while continuing the day to day operations of a retail company.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Following a SDLC of Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, and Maintenance
• Learning the business environment while working in a collaborative team to achieve organizational goals
• Estimates, researches, and documents enhancements and problems
• Ability to grasp new ideas quickly, and be able to thrive in a dynamic and diverse environment
• Ability to maintain a schedule driven project list while handling interruptions in a timely and effective manner
• Highly motivated, effective oral and written communicator with a positive attitude
• Participation in an on-call rotation

REQUIRED SKILLS

• 2+ years development experience
• COBOL, z/OS, JCL, and CICS
• Experience with relational databases, such as DB2
• Familiarity with continuous integration pipelines
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Ability to work onsite at Corporate Headquarters in Little Rock, AR
