Job Description

  • 10+ years of Business Intelligence and Analytics work experience with 5+ years of experience as a Data Warehouse Architect. Completed at least 2 successful data warehouse projects
  • 5+ years of prior experience as a Senior BI developer 
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in designing and delivering technology solutions in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong, hands on skills in all levels of data modeling and data flow diagramming
  • Strong ability to lead technical designs, lead POCs and mentor junior BI developers through the SDLC
  • Experience with commercial reporting packages and ETL tools such as IBM Cognos, Informatica
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Expert in at least 1 data modeling tool, such as Erwin or ER Studio
  • Expert in SQL
  • Enterprise data hub or data lake proficiency a plus
  • Background in Healthcare Analytics. Medicaid background is a definite plus
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases, predictive analytics and Big data technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - ability to grow relationships and become well respected and influential quickly
  • Able to emphasize methodology, modeling, and governance while remaining politically and technologically neutral
  • Responsibilities: Work with a cross-functional team in designing, planning, developing and implementing initiatives around both new and existing technology products within the reporting and BI area.
  • Serve as a liaison to the business area to lead the conversion of business requirements into technical requirements and design solutions that support the business needs.
  • Work with development, architects, quality assurance, and business teams to implement new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions.
  • Translate department vision into roadmap items with specific technical solutions and timelines. Define, manage, and implement roadmap items while working concurrently with the as is state for business continuity.
  • Provide technical guidance and consulting from strategy to planning to issue resolution.
  • Review technical events, issues, and problems in order to contribute to revisions to the technical strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Communicate and document business objectives and requirements to software vendors and internal development teams clearly and effectively.
  • Use and develop subject-matter expertise to understand business objectives, evaluate requirements, and conduct functional design and gap analysis across data warehouse, reports, dashboards, and metrics.
  • Explain existing system capabilities to key business users. Leverage existing capabilities into solutions. Define scope and requirements, isolate key issues, review possible solutions, and present recommendations for data related issues and architecture.
  • Review documentation provided by vendors and internal technical analysis teams for technical accuracy in meeting the business needs and conforming to solution design.
  • Understand and mitigate the technical design on security, performance and data privacy through reviews of proposed configurations and system implementations.
