Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer Lead, under the general direction of the Director of Business Intelligence, functions as the lead Full Stack DevOps engineer and technical project manager for the Business Intelligence Department and is responsible for overseeing and developing innovative enterprise data-driven solutions, applications, and interfaces. Candidate is responsible for utilizing best practices to guide all development related efforts, advise and assist in all technical implementations, review technical work completed by internal and external team members, manage multiple operating environments, and serve as the subject-matter expert responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing, supporting, and troubleshooting all enterprise solutions.  The team member, independently and within cross-functional teams, will provide analysis and projections for unique and new opportunities, detect improvement opportunities in existing operations, develop web and native applications and/or services and support analysis, improvement, and creation of management information metrics, dashboards, and applications.  The individual will also serve as the technical leader and mentor for all other team members by sharing knowledge and training team members in highly technical concepts and methodologies.

Primary Duties

  1. Function as team leader and subject-matter expert in the areas of: application development, interface development, back-end service development, web development, and scripting utilizing multiple programming languages and concepts.
  2. Perform senior-level development in multiple environments and languages, including Microsoft .NET / Python / PHP / R / TSQL
  3. Project manage multiple concurrent development projects completed by internal and external developers. Project management duties specifically include, but not limited to: gathering end-user requirements, documentation of technical and operational specifications, building and implementing test plans, operational and technical code review, assisting with end-user functionality testing, implementation, upgrading and troubleshooting.
  4. Work with multiple databases and data sources (TSQL based RDMS, NoSQL, Graph, etc)
  5. Identify and Advise on failure points in various developed and managed systems as related to performance, stability, security, and best-practice compliance.
  6. Effectively manage code repositories, ensuring team work, retention, and failure recovery
  7. ETL structured and unstructured data as required by projects, frameworks, and software tools being utilized.
  8. Produce innovative solutions driven by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets.
  9. Identifies and implements best practices to improve performance and efficiency
  10. Responsible for documentation of work and projects to preserve enterprise knowledge
  11. Assist Director of Business Intelligence in working with external vendors and contractors.
  12. Conducts financial, statistical and business analysis, business and financial forecasting, and financial spreadsheet modeling, using large data sets and a broad range of tools and technologies.
  13. Researches, Develops, Optimizes, and Maintains metrics that monitor enterprise financial and operational performance.
  14. Assists in the creation and validation of high level strategic financial decision models and ad-hoc analyses for key organizational strategies and initiatives.
  15. Provides analysis and develops models and applications to support system-wide process improvement initiatives.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: BS/MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Health Informatics, Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence, and/or related field.
  • Experience:
    1. 5+ years of computer programming experience (Combination of C, C++, Microsoft .NET, Python, PHP, Java, Javascript, or equivalent languages)
    2. 3+ years of working knowledge of SQL (specifically with one or more of the following platforms: MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, DB2, or Similar Relational T-SQL Platform)
    3. 2+ years of working knowledge of NoSQL (specifically with one or more of the following platforms: HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Hadoop, or Similar NoSQL Platform)
    4. Preferred, but not Required: 2+ years of relevant experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, statistics, advanced mathematics, financial modeling, and / or relevant field (with applicable software such as MatLab, R, SAS, STATA, etc)
    5. Preferred, but not Required: 1+ years of experience with TensorFlow, CNTK, MXNet, Torch, or other equivalent Machine Learning software library or framework.
  • Essential Skills: Ability to demonstrate application of strong programming and project management concepts, innovative problem solving, and strong analytical skills; strong technical skills with the ability to quickly learn new computer programs and data sources; strong understanding of relational databases; solid experience with Microsoft Office applications; able to work effectively with finance, operations, clinical and other functional areas. Knowledge of SQL required. Understanding of healthcare processes and revenue cycle strongly desired.
