The Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) Systems Specialist is responsible for monitoring all warrant records, missing person records, protection orders, stolen property and criminal history information entered into the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC), National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) systems for accuracy, validation, system compliance and security for over 2,200 law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus two years of work experience in telecommunications, computer operations, data processing, or related field; plus one year of experience in the field of law enforcement.
Knowledge of data processing and telecommunications systems operations. Knowledge of criminal records maintenance procedures. Knowledge of state and federal laws governing maintenance of criminal records. Ability to interpret and apply rules, laws, or policies to specific situations. Ability to maintain and communicate sensitive or confidential information. Ability to communicate with others, orally and in writing. Ability to lift 50 lbs. approximately 4 feet and push 100 lbs. occasionally. Ability to work routine shift hours with infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation. Ability to use basic office equipment.
